The Stratton-Eustis Lions club thanks everyone who
decorated for the Polar Blast this year. The towns looked great.
    First place in the business category snow sculpture contest was awarded
to Putt¹s Place Bed and Breakfast.  We hope we don¹t get a sleet storm on
the contest day next year so there will be more entries.
    This year's winners in the decoration contest are:  Business Category -
1st Place ­ Tranquillity Lodge Bed and Breakfast, Stratton; 2nd Place ­
Putt¹s Place Bed and Breakfast, Stratton; 3rd Place ­ Cranberry Creek Candle
and Soap, Stratton.  Family Category - 1st Place ­ The Popov Family of
Stratton; 2nd Place ­ The Berry Family of Eustis; 3rd Place ­ The Butler
Family of Stratton.
    This year the Lions added a special decoration category to recognize the
Eustis Fire Station in Stratton with a first place ribbon for having the
station so nicely decorated.
    The Lions Club encourages everyone to leave your holiday decorations up
next year, add to them for the Polar Blast, let us know you want to be in
the contest, and make sure your lights are on the night we are out judging
them.
